About us

Czech Blind United (also known by its Czech acronym SONS) is a national association in the Czech Republic bringing together visually impaired individuals and their families and friends. We advocate for the rights of the blind and partially sighted and provide services that empower the visually impaired to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Who we are

Established in 1996, SONS is a nationwide organization that continues a tradition spanning more than a century of associations through which people with visual impairments in the Czech Republic have come together to advocate for their interests, share experiences, and engage in joint activities.
